Advice to students:

Work with the teacher to choose your two best graphs or images. With teacher or librarian help, use the Purdue OWL site to figure out what kind of source your resource is (graph, image, photo, etc.).

Provide your teacher with a copy of your graphics (with captions), but also with proper citations they can use to attribute your work to you. Your librarian can help you format these using the school’s NoodleTools account, or you can follow the example listed below. As privacy is a concern, especially at the middle school level, use only your first and last initials instead of first name and last name, or identify yourself using your group name.

If you are not sure whether something should be cited or not, speak with your librarian or teacher. If your librarian or teacher is not available, always yield on the side of caution and cite it. You always want to give credit to someone else when it is due.
